Details: Flowers on a boat

I was laughing the other day as I was putting away flowers. When I use to live in a house, I would just simply buy the flowers, cut the stems, grab a vase, add water and be done!  I tried my old way with the first bunch of London flowers, only to wake up the next morning to find the flowers on the floor and vase broken.

Now when we pick up a bunch of flowers, we find a plastic bottle, cut the bottom off, empty a basket, and hang them from hooks. We now have no more broken vases or flowers on the floor.
